U.S. President Donald Trump surprised Artemis II crew member and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen by conveying words of praise from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky during a late-night phone call after the crew’s historic lunar flyby.
Trump called the four-person crew “modern-day pioneers” during a 13-minute call with the astronauts on April 6, after Hansen and his three American crewmates set a new record for the farthest distance humans have ever travelled from Earth.
