U.S. forces in the Caribbean fired upon a drug boat from Venezuela, killing 11 members of the Tren de Aragua gang, President Donald Trump announced on Sept. 2, amid a heightened naval operation near the country.

Trump first confirmed the attack during the White House press briefing, stating, “We, just over the last few minutes, literally shot out a boat, a drug-carrying boat, a lot of drugs in that boat.”
