Roscosmos announced the move just days after Trump issued an executive order pursuing American space superiority.

Russia has announced a plan to put a power plant on the moon by 2036.
Moscow’s state space corporation, Roscosmos, said in a Dec. 24 statement on the Telegram messaging app that it plans to build a lunar power plant by 2036 and signed a contract with the Lavochkin Association aerospace company to accomplish its goal.
