Damage to the Titan submersible’s hull caused the craft to implode while visiting the wreckage of the Titanic in 2023, killing all five people aboard,
the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced in an official report published Oct. 15.
The experimental craft built in 2021 by the private company OceanGate was on an expedition to explore the wreckage in the North Atlantic Ocean on June 18, 2023, when its pressure hull failed.
