The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has ended a shelter-in-place advisory in Welland, Ont., after arresting a suspect on Dec. 20 in connection with the shooting of a police officer the day before.

Police identified the suspect as 59-year-old Daniel Tronko. He is charged with attempted murder, while further charges are pending.
