Before those aged 65-69 currently receive a 28 percent rebate, while those aged 70 and over receive 32 percent.

The Health Minister Mark Butler’s pledge to cut the higher private health insurance rebate for older Australians over 65 in a bid to raise funds to drive its aged care initiative.
The policy will cut the Howard-era government’s rebate by about four to eight percent.
