NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Vanderbilt University has released plans for a new campus in Palm Beach, FL.
The West Palm Beach campus would provide a graduate school to students that focuses on business, computing and engineering.
Vanderbilt intends for the West Palm Beach campus to accept around 1,000 students in various graduate-level business programs, engineering and computing-focused fields.
Vanderbilt was granted seven acres of land unanimously by county and city commissioners back in October 2024. Vanderbilt’s Board of Trust has set a fundraising goal of $300 million.
They released renderings for the business and tech campus earlier today to generate awareness and excitement, as well as encourage community investment in the project.
“We are delighted to share these renderings and our vision for a West Palm Beach campus,” Chancellor Daniel Diermeier said. “The images show that we are planning a unique learning and research environment that nurtures collaboration and innovation and is sustainable in all senses.”
The new campus will use renewable resources, such as mass timber for the structures and a possibility for solar energy, according to Vanderbilt. The campus will comply with floodplain regulations and has plans for stormwater mitigation.
They also revealed plans to offer opportunities for collaboration among startups, investors, established businesses and academia, as well as foster community engagement in the Palm Beach area.
