Coterie’s tech solutions will be integrated into the company’s marketplace platform
Simply Business, a digital insurance marketplace focused on small businesses, has partnered with Coterie Insurance to expand its business owner’s policy (BOP) coverage nationwide.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
Coterie is a tech-enabled managing general agent (MGA) specializing in simplifying small business insurance.
Under the agreement, Coterie’s tech solutions will be integrated into Simply Business’ marketplace to improve the latter’s BOP coverage options with certain national carriers. The partnership will allow small businesses to choose the coverage that will best address their needs at competitive pricing.
David McFarland, chief executive and co-founder of Coterie, said the partnership will allow them to expand their digital footprint.
“This platform integration increases coverage options for small business owners so they can have the right tools to confidently protect their businesses in an increasingly complex business environment,” he said.
“Coterie’s digital-first insurance solutions and broad appetite make them an ideal partner in our mission to empower small business owners,” said Samantha Roady, US chief executive at Simply Business.
Ever since Simply Business surpassed 1million customers globally in March of this year, the company has been partnering with various companies across the US to improve and expand its product offerings.
In November, the company partnered with First Connect Insurance Services to expand its distribution of small business insurance offerings. It also partnered with non-profit organization Sky’s The Limit to support emerging small businesses from minority groups.
To expand its workers’ compensation offering for small business customers, Simply Business also collaborated with EMPLOYERS to provide more than 300 different types of small businesses across eligible states.
