MEDINA, Ohio – Community members who want access to Medina City Schools’ financial information can find what they are looking for on the district’s website according to Treasurer David Chambers.

“I’ve been asked about this subject and I know you guys have been too,” Chambers said to board of education members at a recent school board meeting. “You can find all our financial information on our website if you go to the treasurer’s page. The financials go back to 2014.”

Chambers explained that he joined the district in 2014.

“I couldn’t pull up stuff from the prior administration, so I thought it was a good idea to just start from where I was at,” he said. “But on our website, you can find the five-year financial forecast from May and November of each of those years as well as the financials that board members received and the board approved tax budgets.”

Board of Education member Andrew West also pointed out that community members can find minutes from board of education meetings on the BoardDocs page which includes all the financial information that Chambers presents at that meeting.

“Usually those are about a month behind, so for example this January meeting will be on BoardDocs by February,” West said.

Board member Amy Smoyer thanked Chambers for directing community members to the website.

“That is a question, I have been asked so I’m glad you are explaining to people how to get there,” she said. “Next time, we might want to do a step-by-step guide showing people how to access that information.”
