QUINCY, Fla. (WCTV) – A new business plaza is set to open at the Seaboard business center in Quincy, according to the Gadsden County Economic Development Council.
Project officials said the project will be located at 335 Pat Thomas Parkway and it will be the first black-owned business plaza in the historical Seaboard area.
They expect construction to be finished by November. Some of the new services included with the project are:
- Food court
- All-into-one-salon
- Dry cleaners
- Construction/real estate office division
- Full-scale restaurant with a private bar room
- Upstairs: Venue space, we work lobby, 2 professional office space with a lobby
Latasha Murray, the president of Seaboard Construction and Real Estate Group, hopes to keep the historical business trend of the place intact.
“They had the restaurants here. They had many other businesses here back in the days – the cleaners, so we’re adopting some of that business trend here at the Seaboard Plaza, so the great history, we’re bringing it back,” Murray said.
The office space will also be used for training and summer camps for younger people to teach them about construction and real estate. They will also bring them to job sites and teach them what goes into the work, according to construction managers.
T.J Lewis, the director of Gadsden County Economic Development, said the new project could improve the area’s commerce.
“What we’re hoping to see is Pat Thomas Parkway emerge as a corridor for services, for jobs, for hotels, for commerce for this community that will allow us to become the Gadsden County of the future,” Lewis said.
