MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -The Mobile City Council is getting ready to take another look at progress being made on the new Civic Center
The City Council Finance Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon to receive an update on the demolition and construction timeline, as well as the financing plans for the new Civic Center arena.
The committee held a similar meeting last month.
At that meeting, council members along with the Deputy Director of Finance Scott Collins discussed the cost of the civic center project.
Collins said a strategic financing plan will allow debt from this project to be paid down in less than 20 years.
He said the bid process is underway and he expects the bids to be returned by early February of next year.
The meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
