Activists launched 385 campaigns globally in H1 2025, down from the 431 campaigns launched in H1 2024. The bulk of that shrinkage occurred in the Asia Pacific region, which saw 42 fewer campaigns launched in H1 2025 than in H1 2024.
The decrease in overall activity spanned most industries, but that was not the case for campaigns launched against biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. From H1 2024 to H1 2025, the number of campaigns in the industry nearly doubled.
