Manitoba Won’t Cooperate on Federal Gun Buyback, Premier Says

Premier of Manitoba Wab Kinew speaks to media prior to the first ministers meeting in Saskatoon on June 2, 2025. The Canadian Press/Liam Richards

Kinew’s Jan. 16 comments position Manitoba among several other provinces that are pushing back against the program designed to compensate gun owners who willingly surrender recently banned firearms.
