The Conservative Party is calling on the federal government to designate the India-based Lawrence Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization.
Conservative MP and public safety critic Frank Caputo wrote in an Aug. 11 letter to Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree that the organization should be listed as a terrorist group under Canadian law to provide law enforcement and government with the necessary tools to address the gang’s activities.
