Alberta has reached a tentative agreement with Ottawa to reduce methane emissions from its oil and gas sector as part of a deal to get a pipeline to the West Coast.
Under the new agreement-in-principle, Alberta will continue regulating methane under its existing system and reduce methane emissions to 75 percent below 2014 levels by 2035, the province said in a March 25 news release.
