A 45-year-old man has been identified in an online fraud and cryptocurrency theft case involving 53,825 euros, according to Greece’s Cyber Crime Unit. He faces charges of computer fraud and unauthorized access to data.
The investigation began after a Greek citizen reported that hackers accessed his email and cryptocurrency exchange accounts, making three transactions to wallets controlled by the suspects. Authorities traced the internet connection used in the crime to the suspect.
A search of his home led to the seizure of a laptop and three mobile phones, which will undergo forensic analysis. The case is under review by the prosecutor’s office.
